Welcome to Transcix's Metal Archive, or TMA for short. TMA contains a rich variety of metal-related links on such topics as genre, history, culture, national identity, law and order, psychology, religion, occultism, etc, in such mediums as papers, articles, columns, news articles, etc. All the links are hand-picked, and all points of view are represented.
There's lots of ignorance about metal in the modern marketplace of ideas, and the best way to let the truth about metal rise to the surface of the marketplace is to make the information and discussion about it available. Surprisingly, or perhaps a telling symptom, TMA is the first serious website of its kind in the domain of metal in English, despite the fact that the need for such a website has been around much longer than TMA has.
Website status:
Launched November 2009, TMA is currently active (if this ever changes I'll take the simple measure of indicating so here). The next stage in TMA's evolution is to really start advertising and promoting it as well as to attract advertizers. Before that happens some things still need to be done, such as finishing the 'Advertize' section, ameliorating some of the HTML behind the scenes and completing all page titles, descriptions and keyword descriptions. A superior webhost will also be procurred in the short- to mid-term.
Updates & announcements:
18 August 2010:
TMA's MySpace node has been drastically ameliorated, and I'll be getting more active soon on that social networking platform.
06 August 2010:
I'm pleased to announce that the main page (the one you're viewing now) has received a major face-lift, now it looks a lot better and is also more manoeuverable. I've added a section on the right-hand side displaying six (number subject to change) random links from the archive. Also and moreover I've added a "quick links" drop-down menu option on the left hand side right underneath the "archive index" link, allowing you to go directly to a category or sub-category faster by bypassing the main archive index page. In the coming days I'll be including this quick links button on every page on TMA somewhere up in the header section. Other minor adjustments will also take place during the next few days, such as tweaking the font sizes and fixing some margins.
31 July 2010:
Notice: TMA is getting a face-lift, as you can see. Work will be complete early in the first week of August. (edit: Work has been delayed a few days due to family obligations as well as technical problems with the web host.) Thank you for your patience.
Current link count: 822
